Alvaro Breccolotti's painting is more real than real. His hyper realistic features have made him widely known as DUCA. Umbrian by birth, he is an Art History lover and deep connoisseur. He started exhibiting in collective exhibitions in 2003, and individually in 2010, to  soon impose for his dazzling, almost majestic technique which sublimates reality and finds constant inspiration in Nature with paintings that travel across the world. His paintings have one fundamental objective: "To impress, seduce and convince. My art is objective and every painting has to offer a message, one and only. It is a game to be played in three: the author, the works and the spectator."

In 1970 DUCA attends Pietro Annigoni's atelier. Then the years of study with two important Masters who signed his artistic growth: the Italo-american Robert Maione, one of the most important 20th century landscape painters, and Cecil Charles, owner of a celebrated painting school in Florence.

DUCA works in his atelier in the very heart of Perugia's city centre, in a XVI century building. His paintings are in public and private collections and his exhibitions are always acclaimed and highly appreciated.

"A painting is like an iceberg: we can only see the top, never considering the submerged part. Being and not playing the painter is what counts in my job."
